MARYSVILLE RACEWAY PARK General Rules, Revised 12-15-07 The Rules contained herein supersede any previously published safety and conduct rules. The rules set forth herein are designed to provide for the orderly conduct of racing events and establish minimum acceptable requirements for these events. These rules will govern the condition of all events and by participating in these events, the participants are deemed to have complied with these rules. No express or implied warranty of safety shall result from the publications of or compliance with these rules and/or regulations. They are intended as a guide for the conduct of the event. They are in no way a guarantee against injury or death to participant, spectator or official. The race director or promoter is empowered to impose or permit reasonable deviations from any specification herein or impose further restrictions, that, in his opinion, do not alter the minimum requirements. No expressed or implied warranty of safety will result from such alterations of the specifications. Any interpretation or deviation of the rules is left to the discretion of the officials. The decision of the officials is final. TYPE OF CAR: Any American or foreign sedan or station wagon or mini van with completely stock OEM engine. NO modifications allowed. NO 4 wheel drive or all wheel drive cars. REAR END: No locked or posi-traction rear end. All cars will be required to spin the drive tires while the front bumper is resting on an immovable object. SEATS/RESTRAINTS: Racing seats recommended. Racing belts recommended. Stock seats and passenger restraints may be used. DOORS/BODY: All doors must be welded or chained shut. All flammables and glass must be removed from the car, with the exception of the front seats. All airbags must be removed. No gutting or lightening, except for door bar clearance. An 18 hole must be cut in hood above air cleaner for fire personnel access. ABSOLUTELY NO AFTERMARKET OR FACTORY PERFORMANCE PARTS. CAGE: Four point cage recommended, no bars allowed to front or rear. Three driver door bars recommended. WINDSHIELD: Must be replaced with reinforced screen with a least 2 vertical supports in middle. FUEL TANK: Must be placed above the rear axle with a 22 gauge metal firewall between fuel tank and passenger compartment. Racing fuel cell recommended. BATTERY: May be relocated. If in passenger compartment, must be securely mounted and covered. BRAKES: Cars must have functioning brakes A dummy steering wheel or grab bar for passenger is HIGHLY recommended. TIRES: Stock tires. NO mud or snow tires, no racing recaps. Maximum 8 wide tire or the width that came on car, whichever is less. WHEELS: Factory steel wheels only Right side must use 1 lug nuts. BUMPERS: May be reinforced in any manner that is invisible from outside vehicle. HITCHES: All cars will be equipped with rear hitches, complete with 2 balls. HELMETS: Required. Fire suit recommended. RACING FORMAT AND RULES REGARDING PROCEDURE A pill draw as designated by the Marysville Raceway Park officials will determine race starting line-up. Race format will be simply a 10 lap MAIN EVENT. FLAGS: Only a GREEN, RED and CHECKERED flag will be used for this division. There will be no yellow or black flags. RED FLAG - STOP, DANGEROUS CONDITION. The idea behind these cars is cheap thrills. All cars will have passengers. Each week, all drivers and co-pilots will be given a challenge or task to complete and 10 laps to do so. The first across the finish line WITH THE COMPLETED TASK will be the designated winner. It is our intention to have a safe and fair environment. Please adhere to the rules herein. Approval of a vehicle shall only mean that the car is approved for participation. Approval does not imply the car is mechanically safe or sound. Marysville Raceway Park, its staff or management will not be liable for losses due to any mechanical failure, driver error, nor for any losses, injuries or death resulting from same. |
