MRP Super Stock Champion Billy Knoop By Bob Burbach Marysville CA - September 18, 2012 --- It was learned that former Marysville Raceway Park Super Stock champion Billy Knoop died Sunday in a motorcycle accident near his Hallwood home.  According to available records, the upbeat, personable driver was a 17 time feature event winner in championship point race competition at MRP. Knoop also had numerous victories at other northern California raceways. Knoop's popular victory "dance" on the roof of his car in victory lane became his signature. Knoop's familiar #73 was also taken to victory lane by other fine stock car chauffeurs over the last few years.  Sprint Car star Jeremy Hawes will take a checkered flag lap for the fallen champion at this week's events at Marysville Raceway Park. The entire Marysville Raceway Park family is in mourning.
