United Rentals Hosts big night at MRP
EXTREME BOMBERS, BCRA, Modifieds, Pro 4s & Minis Saturday By Bob
Marysville CA - April 14,
2010 --- United Rentals will bring back the EXTREME BOMBERS for their 1st 2010 race at Marysville Raceway Park Saturday night. National stars and the return of the Professor Jimmy Sills will ad spice to the BCRA full midget program. The MRP Mini Stocks and the Pro 4 Sprints will also be presented.
Not since last years final EXTREME BOMBER Trailer race has their been such anticipation for an event. Promoter Paul Hawes’ “idea” of 3 years ago is now one of the most successful promotions ever. EXTREME BOMBER drivers will get their first look at the facility this year in what promises to be (as always) a knock down drag out slam bang fender shattering promotion. It always is in this
run-what-you-brung slugfest. It’s a gas.
The BCRA Midgets will return to MRP headlining the open wheel portion of the show Saturday. BCRA is the oldest nationally recognized sanctioning body in the United States. It was first formed in 1939. BCRA will bring a number of stars that have competed in such stellar national midget classics as the Chili Bowl, the Turkey Night Grand Prix and the Belleville Nationals. 3-time national USAC Champion and National Sprint Car Hall of fame inductee Jimmy Sills “The Professor” will strap into a midget for the first time at MRP in a decade against a stellar cast of traveling professional open wheel stars. BCRA champions Nick Foster
(BCRA’s most recent feature winner) and Matt Streeter will be in the house as well. Expected entries include a number of past champions and race winners including Scott Nail, the BCRA season opening race winner Scott
Pierovich, Rick Haugh and Bill Lindsey.
Saturday night will also see the return of the thrilling California Modifieds to MRP for a full program. Former Modified champions Randy and Ryan McDaniel will be slinging it sideways in that wild style that typifies the “Modifieds”. The field will include champion racer Duane Cleveland and a host of other hammer down competitors. This observer recommends a few minutes at the fence near turn 1 while the Modifieds are running. It is truly one of dirt track racing’s great visual experiences.
A full field of the Mighty MRP Mini Stocks will be showcased as well. The event will also feature the 2nd appearance of the Pro 4 Sprint Cars this season. The pit gate opens at 3PM. The spectator gates will open at 5 PM with Hot Laps at 6 PM. IMPORTANT: The first race will start after hot laps at about 6:30
