INSANE Bomber Trailer Race, Pro Stocks, Pure Stocks and Open 4s in Monster “Stock Car Spectacular” Saturday

Paul and Kathy Hawes will present the season finale in Marysville Raceway Park’s 40th Anniversary season this Saturday night. The much awaited return of the 100 lap (or last car running) EXTREME BOMBER TRAILER RACE will bring down the curtain on the 2008 season. This will be the second edition of this colossal, season ending, feature event showcasing EXTREME BOMBER Stock Cars. The Bombers must tow RV trailers or boat trailers (with boats) for 100 laps around the MRP oval. This race really is nothing more than a high-speed version of a monster destruction derby. There are no yellow flags. A red flag will be thrown to stop the mayhem when a fire erupts or a driver injury is suspected. But, otherwise, it is a wild, free wheeling FREE-FOR-ALL featuring car crunching impacts and outrageous driving by the combatants. At this late date promoter Hawes has not even let it be known which direction the race will be run or if any additional tasks will be required of the drivers. Half of the events this season have been run in the opposite (or wrong) direction. EXTREME BOMBER Stock Cars can be virtually anything on 4 wheels. Cars, vans, trucks and even a SCHOOL BUS have been entered in the bone-jarring, metal pounding races presented thus far this season. All cars can carry passengers and so far this season ALL entrants have done so.
This event is genuinely worthy of the hype. A slam-bang good time will be had by all. Bring the family and enjoy this colorful presentation of some exceptional motorized mayhem. This is simply the MUST SEE EVENT OF THE YEAR.
This year three other classes of cars will take to the track prior to the big finale. Promoter Hawes will present the finest dirt track stock car stars from tracks all over California, Oregon and northern Nevada in a 3 division Stock Car Spectacular. 16 track champions from these tracks are among the early entries. It is anyone’s guess how many other championship caliber drivers will throw their hats in the ring and compete for the lion’s share of the biggest MRP Pro Stock/Pure Stock purse of the year. A $1000 to win Pro Stock event will headline the action on the venerable clay oval. In addition, a complete $500 to win Pure Stock program and a $1000 to win Pro Open 4 Cylinder program are on the same card. Some 100 entrants are expected.
The rules for the Pro Stock and Pure Stock cars are simple. Please see the flyer displayed on the home page at www.marysvilleracewaypark.com. The rules for the Pro Open 4 Cylinders are SUDS. The Open 4 class allows highly modified Mini Stocks and Pro 4 Modifieds to run in the same class/race.
Pit gates will open at 3PM and the grandstands will swing open at 5PM. Practice and hot laps will begin at 6PM. Racing will follow hot laps at 7PM.
